In a previous life, I was a newspaper editor. I was a department of one (I got an assistant a couple of years before I left) and I published Coast Weekend, the weekly arts & entertainment magazine for northwest Oregon and southwest Washington. It was my dream job at the time. (Hard to believe I started 20 years ago!) I had some outstanding mentors and colleagues, and I got to know all the movers and shakers in the cultural scene here.
I emailed a press release to the newsroom last month about my audiobook Slaughtering Girl, and reporter Kaila Mellos took up the story and wrote a nice piece for The Astorian’s personality column, Everyday People. Check it out!
